Balancing Act - Bellwether Awards
Dallas College was selected as a finalist for the Bellwether Awards for its work on student support and removing barriers to student success. My challenge was to help turn a lot of information, data and program details into a table display that was engaging and easy to follow.

The CONCEPT
The theme “Balancing Act: Student Edition” came from the idea that students are often balancing school with work, family, finances and everyday life.
I used a board game as the visual metaphor for that experience. Game pieces, cards, paths and other familiar elements helped tell the story while giving the entire display a fun and unexpected look.
The idea carried through the main display, printed materials, dimensional pieces and takeaways so everything felt like part of the same game.
The Outcome
The finished table helped make a complicated story about student support more approachable and memorable while still giving the team plenty of information to share with visitors and judges.
Dallas College was named a Bellwether finalist, and the display received Best in Showcase recognition.
